The West Hill Kino Club presents the World Premiere of ‘Lint: The Movie’ introduced by Steve Aylett on Sunday 26 June. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are £5.
Equally fascinating, deranged, and hilarious ‘Lint: The Movie’ is a documentary on the life and work of cult SF author and philosopher Jeff Lint, starring Alan Moore, Steve Aylett, Stewart Lee, Josie Long, Bill Ectric, D. Harlan Wilson, Jeff Vandermeer, Leila Johnston, Robin Ince, Andrew O’Neill, Mitzi Szereto, Vessel/Mr.Solo, Mo Ali, Lord Pin, 7-Inch Stitch, Spencer Pate and others.
It’s based on Steve Aylett’s books ‘Lint’ and ‘And Your Point Is?’ Featuring clips from Lint’s books, cartoons, music, comics and films, plus interviews with fans & critics, the movie follows Lint’s life from the days of vintage pulp, through his adoption by sixties counter-culture to his status as an enigmatic cult figure. Never-before-seen archive footage and recordings of Lint himself, and commentary by those who knew and read him, results in a compelling portrait of the creator of Clowns & Insects, Jelly Result, The Stupid Conversation, The Riding On Luggage Show and The Caterer comic, out in 2011 from Steve Aylett and Electric Children.
Kino Club is amply supported by Brighton’s Dave’s Comics for this event. Also included on the night: other treats and stalls. Tickets available from 27 May from wegottickets.com, Resident Records and Dave’s Comics. http://www.myspace.com/lintthemovie. Facebook: West Hill Kino Club
