“Fast and Furious” is a HIIT (High intensity interval training) class at West Hill Hall on Thursday mornings at from 9:15am until 10:15am. £10.00 per class.
My main aim in this hour is to see you leave with a smile on your face. Secondly, I want to promote good posture as well as mental and physical health for all of my clients. A mixture of body and weighted workouts strengthening the core and releasing the hormone serotonin will provide that.
The class is split between bodyweight and weighted exercises.
The first half is a ten minute High Intensity Interval Training session following the principles studied by Professor Tabata, who pioneered studies into which exercises produce the best fat burning results. His latest research shows that if the regime is followed correctly, the body will continue to consume more calories for up to 12 hours after the exercise class. These are additional calories to those consumed by the body at rest. Basically, you will burn more calories in this section than an hour’s run.
Flowing into the second section will be a Weighted circuit class. Whilst keeping the heart rate elevated, promoting further fat-burning and strengthening the heart and body you will work in a circuit style class focusing on whole body, core and cardio, using changing kit such as slam balls, skip ropes, kettle bells, Bosu balls, Swiss balls, plyometric platforms etc.
Classes with be progressing and changing to allow different moves and keep you interested and on your toes.
