Community Volunteers

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service Community Volunteer Service supports the work of the Service in achieving its vision of ‘safer and more sustainable communities’.

Volunteers make a vital contribution by helping ESFRS provide fire and road safety information and practical support to the local community. We want to recruit a team of volunteers in Brighton & Hove to support our already successful team active throughout East Sussex. Community Volunteers have close links with their local fire stations (Preston Circus, Hove and Roedean) and support the work of the station staff and firefighters. They are involved in publicising local initiatives, such as arson reduction campaigns, firework safety campaigns and road traffic safety events.

Additionally, we are recruiting volunteers to support a new project, which involves supporting some of the most vulnerable members of the community. Individuals who have already received a Home Safety Visit from ESFRS and who have been identified as vulnerable, will be offered a Health and Wellbeing Visit, where volunteers will look to identify any additional support needed.
