Brighton Film School is running a new Art Direction and Production (Set Design) Diploma from September 2015. The 9 month course is designed to develop students’ skills to a professional standard as an Art Director for the film industry. To launch the course they are offering students who have studied at Brighton Film School previously £150 cashback on their deposit if applications are placed and confirmed before 1 June 2015.
This course in Art Direction is aimed at students who might have already worked in film and television, have already gained a degree and wish to learn professional practice without the commitment to a 2-year degree course. The course, led by practising and acclaimed professional Art Director Anna Deamer, who shares her expertise and knowledge from many years working in the film and television industry, gives students a solid grounding in film art direction and production design processes. Students learn practical skills to take an idea from script to delivery in both theoretical and live projects and have the opportunity to actualize their designs in the film school studio and/or on location on film school shoots. The last term focuses on progression plans – making links for possible employment or even further study. Art and design skills taught on this course are transferable to, and relevant for, wide-ranging career paths and professions. They are useful tools on the route to installation based work, theatre design, exhibition and interior design and project management.
Open studio sessions are on Saturday mornings which can be attended by appointment. Interviews are also conducted on this day.
