8 week Free Mindfulness Course
From 21 May to 9 July 11-1pm
With Southdown Brighton and Hove Mental Health Recovery Services
Research has shown that mindfulness practised regularly can help with a range of physical and emotional difficulties including stress, pain, anxiety and depression. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommends Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) as a treatment within the NHS. MBCT aims to bring about a different way of relating to our experience, especially difficult experiences, through mindfulness practices in order to help us see more clearly how best to respond.
This course teaches practical mindfulness skills aimed at helping us notice more of the thoughts, feelings and sensations that make up our lives. This can deepen our appreciation of our lives as well as help us notice negative thinking and feeling and so open up choices about how to act.
