Talks and Walks for 2016

West Hill Community Association is delighted to announce a series of twice-yearly,  spring and autumn, talks of interest to the local community. The first will be an illustrated talk about the history of the Seven Dials, presented by Brighton’s best known history tour guide and University of Sussex lecturer, Dr Geoffrey Mead.

The following Sunday afternoon, Dr Mead will conduct a tour of the Seven Dials area, offering a fascinating insight into the history and geography of the area.

Tuesday 19 April 7.30pm at West Hill Hall, Compton Avenue

Illustrated talk on the history of the Seven Dials (approx. 1 hour)

£3 including refreshments

Sunday 24 April 2.00pm – meet at West Hill Hall, Compton Avenue

Seven Dials tour (approx. 1½ hours) £5 and children go free

Pre-booking is not required for either event, just turn up! Talk and tour suitable for all ages.

Our autumn talk will be on Tuesday 11 October 7.30pm at West Hill Hall and will be presented by Jayne Shrimpton, professional dress historian, portrait specialist and ‘photo detective’, an experienced speaker in genealogy and social history matters.
