Buckingham Road BIG Tidy Up

BRIGHTON & HOVE City Council has been organising the Tidy Up Team scheme for nearly two years. The scheme was set up to provide volunteers with the tools, materials, and know-how so that they could litter-pick safely in the green spaces across the City. The scheme has been very successful with more than 200 volunteers provided with litter-picking kits and given Tidy Up Team training. The help we get from volunteers has meant we are able to concentrate on developing the scheme further and we are extremely grateful to those who have got involved.

Because of the success of the scheme we have decided to launch city-wide and will be holding the first BIG Tidy Up Street Clean on the Tidy Up Team two-year anniversary, with the first official Street Clean of Buckingham Road on 27 October starting at 10:00, meeting on the corner of Buckingham Road and Guildford Road. All tools and materials will be provided on the day.

Before the BIG Tidy Up residents and businesses in Buckingham Road will be contacted with details of the activities on the day. We will be cutting back hedges, clearing weeds from pavements, removing graffiti, picking up litter, and generally sprucing up the area. The only way this will work, though, is if we can get the support of the residents and businesses in Buckingham Road. The Council will help as much as it can but this has to be a partnership between the Council and the Community. It’s time to Love Where You Live.
