Oska Bright Film Festival

From Tuesday 22 November at 7 pm at Brighton Dome’s Corn Exchange with Digital Me – a film that 250 adults, children and young people with a learning disability from across Brighton and Hove took part in.

It is screened both inside the Corn Exchange and outside on the front of the Unitarian Church in New Road. The event is free, and there will be free food, too! This is followed by screenings from Oska Bright 2009 as well as 3 beautiful short films from Iran, Iraq and Czech Republic – all made by learning disabled film makers.

The Festival continues on Wednesday 23 November all day and evening – each screening only costing £1. The evening event will see Oska Bright collaborating with BAFTA for the very first time – and having a Q & A about how we can get learning disability made film and digital media more widely seen.

The last day of the Festival is Thursday 24 November – we continue with day and evening screenings. In the evening at 7 pm is a big Awards Ceremony and closing party – with DJs and Carousel’s band Beat Express. It costs £4 and Carers free to come to the Awards Party.

Digital Me will be screened onto the front of the Unitarian Church every Festival evening from 6pm until 10pm, and will be part of a surround-sound installation piece inside the Corn Exchange whilst the Festival is open.

To book tickets, please email oskabright@carousel.org.uk or call Carousel on 01273 234734 or turn up at the Corn Exchange, Church Street, Brighton.
