The QueenSpark Books project team, historian Dr Geoffrey Mead, young artists and writers, and project mentors Tim Pilcher and Paul Collicutt met recently for a sunny WWI inter-generational event at Pavilion Gardens Cafe in Brighton. The session brought together the group as part of the research for a digital and print graphic novel based on the lives of the people of the city up to and including the First World War. David, the Pavilion Gardens Cafe owner encouraged some of his older customers to join in, enabling participants to hear (in person) from people who had relatives who went through the war.
