Meditation is endorsed by scientists, doctors and even governments as a way of helping us live a happier, saner life, and many people are looking for ways that they can learn to practise. In Brighton, the Shambhala meditation group meets every Thursday evening, with free instruction for anyone curious to find out more.
Brighton Shambhala Meditation GroupThe group is part of a worldwide network of meditation centres whose deep roots lie in the ancient lineages of Tibetan Buddhism, and which teach meditation, Buddhism and contemplative arts as ways to live a peaceful and dignified human life. Meditation is taught as the basis for creating a more enlightened society, in which we can flourish as individuals and communities. Brighton Shambhala Meditation Group offers courses for people who would like to explore the practice of meditation in more depth. The Way of Shambhala programme, offers suggestions on how mindfulness can help us live more meaningfully and with joy, deepening our intelligence and compassion. The connection between meditation and health is explored through talks, discussion and individual guidance, and the course offers practical suggestions for developing a home meditation practice.
