Wild Times at the West Hill

The West Hill pub, dramatically perched at the bottom of Buckingham Place, used to be called the Belle Vue Inn. It was built as a public house in 1852 by local builder Edward Hilder Ade and was owned by Vallance Catt and Company brewers.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a mind-body exercise method designed to stretch, strengthen, and balance the body. Pilates strengthens all the muscle groups, but particularly the deep ‘core muscles’ which are so important to both our posture and our overall health and well-being. It works by using controlled, yet fluid movements, alongside a specific breathing pattern to reinforce correct spinal and pelvic alignment. Terminus Road Taxi Rank

The council’s proposal for an 18-month Terminus Road taxi rank trial has been put on hold, following a packed public meeting in December. Members of the West Hill Action Team organised the meeting, held at the West Hill Hall on 8 December, where Cllr Gill Mitchell, chair of the council’s Environment, Transport and Sustainability Committee, was invited, along with senior council officers, to put their case forward and answer questions.
