Wildlife Photographer of the Year

Winner: ‘The last great picture’ by Michael ‘Nick’ Nichols

 

There is a marvellous exhibition at Brighton Museum until 6 September. The world-renowned exhibition features 100 awe-inspiring photographs. From the majesty of a pride of lions to the tiniest of spiders, the images show nature in its most elemental and challenge our perceptions of the world of wildlife. New at the Hall – Mindfulness

8 week Free Mindfulness Course

From 21 May to 9 July 11-1pm

With Southdown Brighton and Hove Mental Health Recovery Services

Research has shown that mindfulness practised regularly can help with a range of physical and emotional difficulties including stress, pain, anxiety and depression. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommends Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) as a treatment within the NHS. MBCT aims to bring about a different way of relating to our experience, especially difficult experiences, through mindfulness practices in order to help us see more clearly how best to respond. Knees up for Nepal

Arts and heritage organisation Strike a Light is organising a benefit gig to help support Nepal earthquake victims. The event will be a jam-packed night of live music, cabaret, comperes and a DJ set.

Activities include beginner–friendly competitions in Ultimate Frisbee, Raft Racing, Rounders and more. There are events and activities suitable for disabled people and adults with learning disabilities, including the Best of Health Event on 25 June from 10am-3pm at the King Alfred Leisure Centre in Hove.
